In an effort to ruin people’s faith Satan will try anything. One thing Satan has been busy working on is convincing people that the first eleven chapters of Genesis are a myth, or poetry, or in some way not to be taken as true, historical events.
The Psalmist writes: For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psa. 11:2-3)
If the foundations of the inspired Word of God are destroyed, the righteous will have nowhere to stand, and for sure victory will belong to Satan. The foundation of all the Bible is found in the first few chapters of Genesis. In the first two chapters, we learn about how all things came into being. Time, Space, Matter, and human life are found to have been miraculously created by God. There were no millions of years, there was no gap, there was simply the miracle of God breathing all things into existence. (Psa. 33:9)
Those who believe in The General Theory of Evolution and those who wish to somehow try to marry God and Evolution (called Theistic-Evolution, which are contradictory ideas) believe that this Earth is nearly 5 billion years old. They also believe that man has only been on the earth for approximately 3 million years. Now, there is a vast gulf of TIME between 5 BILLION and 3 MILLION.
That means that the Earth was here BILLIONS of years before man ever evolved.
THEISTIC EVOLUTION TEACHES THAT JESUS IS NOT GOD OR HE IS NOT THE REDEEMER
The only way one could possibly accept the idea of a large gap of time between the beginning of the world and the appearance of man is to flatly reject and deny the words of Jesus.
But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. (Mar 10:6 )
Notice: Jesus stated that “From the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.” That statement stands in stark contrast to the idea that man evolved over multiplied billions of years.
Jesus also quotes directly from Genesis 2:24
Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? (Matt. 19:4-5)
It is interesting to note that Jesus actually believed that Genesis 2 was historical and reliable because he quoted directly from it using it as authority for his teaching on Marriage.
Friend, those are the words of Jesus. Jesus the Lord, Jesus the Word, who has always been God. You know, Jesus, the one who did the creating to begin with. (John 1:1-3) He states these words as factual events.
If the foundations of the book of Genesis are not actual, historical events, then we must conclude one of two things.
- Jesus knew that Man was not here from the beginning of the creation, but Jesus lied and caused billions of people to believe the “myths of Genesis” should be seen as historical and therefore trustworthy. (Causing confusion, and causing people to believe a lie). Or,
- Jesus, the Creator God, did not know how He created man and He simply guessed at how it happened. But, He completely missed it.
The fact is, both The General Theory of Evolution and Theistic Evolution teach us that we cannot trust the words of Jesus.
So which is it? Did Jesus lie about His creative work? Did the Creator forget how he actually created everything?
Whichever of these choices you choose, it eliminates Jesus either from being God or from being our Redeemer. The Son of God, being all-knowing, does not forget. Jesus being the perfect, sinless sacrifice could not have lied and still have been the redeemer.
So choose ‘wisely’ those of you who choose to accept the words of man over the Word of God because you will meet Jesus, the one who Created all things by the word of His power. You will meet Him again one day and you will give an answer as to which of these choices you believed about Him. I hope you are ready.
As for me, I’ll just keep on believing God’s word over man’s word. After all, wasn’t it man’s word that told us that: 1. The world was flat, 2. Blood-letting was the cure for disease 3. Drinking camel urine will heal your stomach ache 4. The earth was carried on the back of a whale 5. The sun sets into a muddy pool of water. Etc…?
I suspect that in the next hundred years or so the General Theory of Evolution will be replaced by some other man-made foolish theory. Those who now choose to believe in the Religion of Evolution will be viewed in the same fashion as the ones we look back on who once believed the Earth was flat.
THEISTIC EVOLUTION TEACHES THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS NOT GOD
Casting doubt upon God’s Word is what Satan does and he is a master of deception. For instance, when the Bible mentions the creation of man as being from dust, that is actually what it means. But Satan has duped some into believing that we must not take the words of Genesis 1-11 as actual, historical events.
If Genesis chapters 1-11 are not historical, then Jesus either is not God or is not our Redeemer, for he claims that they are historical. (Mk 10;6; Matt 19:4-5). But it is not enough for Satan to attack Jesus and to cast doubt upon our Lord, he also casts doubt upon the Divinity of the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 2: 7 says
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
Again Genesis 3:19 says:
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
Holy Spirit inspiration reveals in 1 Corinthians 15:47
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
It is interesting to notice the words “earth” and “earthy.”
The word “Earth” is the Greek word: Ge – meaning “ground”
The word “Earthy” is the Greek word: khoikos – meaning “dust, dusty, from dust”
Inspired Paul literally says, “the first man is from the ground, from dust.”
So, either the Holy Spirit messed up when He inspired Paul, or He was correct in corroborating what was mentioned in Genesis. Which is it? The Holy Spirit got it wrong? Genesis is correct?
This is not the only time the Holy Spirit corroborated the historical events of Genesis 1-11. In the inspired “resurrection chapter” 1 Corinthians 15, The Holy Spirit bases His argument about the resurrection of Jesus and the effects of Jesus conquering death, on the fact that Adam brought sin and its effects into this world. Paul addressed those in his day who were doubtful of the resurrection by explaining the proofs and the hope that the resurrection brings. (1 Cor. 15).
And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (1 Cor. 15:17-22)
This gets to the very heart of the whole scheme of redemption. If we cannot trust The Spirit’s words to tell us the truth about how that in Adam all men face death, then we would be foolish to be reassured that in Christ all men shall be made alive.
If it is the case that I must not believe The Spirit’s words about Adam, it is also the case that I must not believe His words about the Christ either.
Based upon the lie He told (that by Adam sin came into this world,) why should I then listen to the second half of his statement as though it were true?
So which is true? 1. The Holy Spirit knew that Adam did not really bring about death, but lied and instructed Paul to continue lying by writing this letter. Or 2. The Holy Spirit thought that Adam brought death into the world, but He was simply mistaken?
Whichever of these 2 you choose, you are negating that the Holy Spirit is God.
- God cannot lie so if the Holy Spirit lied then He clearly is not God. Or,
- If He was mistaken about these events, then the Holy Spirit is not all-knowing. Since God is all knowing, and the Holy Spirit is not all-knowing, then the Holy Spirit is not God.
By Satan duping people into believing that the first eleven chapters of Genesis are myths, and are non-historical events he has people believing that:
- That Jesus either is not God or that He is not the Redeemer.
- That The Holy Spirit is not God.
This is one of Satan’s attempts at casting doubt upon God. When you cannot destroy God, you attack the things that God has said. Satan cannot destroy God, so he is doing all he can to belittle God’s Word. I urge you to not fall for his deception.
It may not be long until this whole “Evolution” theory is thrown out for the next “proven” man-made theory. Which in time will also be cast aside for the next “proven” man-made theory.
I’ll stay with God’s Word. I must if I seek to please Him. (Gal. 1:10)
THEISTIC EVOLUTION TAKES AWAY OUR HOPE
When God punished Adam in Genesis 3 one thing He stated was:
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. (Gen 3:19)
The statement is clear, that because of sin, man would die physically. Another consequence of sin and proof that death began after sin is found just a few verses later.
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: (Gen. 3:22)
Being removed from the tree of life and the ability to live forever, Adam and Eve were punished and faced death. We conclude from these scriptures then that death came AFTER sin.
Theistic Evolution teaches that death came millions of years before Adam ever lived, (If he lived at all), and therefore death came BEFORE sin.
The consequence of teaching that death came before sin does away with our hope for spiritual life by Christ’s atonement.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Rom. 5:12)
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. (Rom. 5:17)
Scripture is also clear that mankind traces our lineage back to Adam. The Holy Spirit’s argument then is all men are descended from Adam and ever since the time of Adam sin and death have entered the world. Just as death is the consequence of sin, it would take Jesus to defeat sin and death and would reign in life, bringing forth grace and righteousness to mankind. This is every man’s hope.
Now, either sin and death were defeated by Jesus or they were not. If death did not come as a consequence of sin, then Jesus dying for sin is in no way a victory over death.
The Holy Spirit inspired these words:
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.(1 Cor. 15:21-22)
The Holy Spirit makes it absolutely clear that Adam brought about death and that Jesus is the answer to the death problem.
If Theistic Evolution is true, then death happened millions of years before sin, and therefore death has nothing to do with sin. If it is the case that Adam did not bring forth death, then it follows that Christ is not the answer to the death problem.
In a continued comparison between Jesus and Adam The Holy Spirit Inspired:
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (1 Cor 15:47-49)
God said that the first man (Adam) was of the earth, from dust and the second man (Christ) is from heaven. He further states that as we all have received the earthly body,(flesh) one day we will receive the glorified (Heavenly) body.
The argument is meant to give hope to the followers of Christ. That based upon the death and resurrection of Jesus, the fleshly body will be changed, and we will have a body that is no longer susceptible to death.
But the argument hinges on whether or not he is telling the truth about Adam, sin, and death. If it is the case that Adam did not bring about death and the Holy Spirit is using this ‘false’ information to provide hope to Christ’s followers, then the Holy Spirit is giving false hope. And as the false prophets of old, He is offering peace where there is no peace. (Jer. 6:14; Ezek. 13:10)
Faithful followers of Christ sure have to give up a lot in order to drink down the theory of Theistic Evolution. We have to give up Jesus as God or the redeemer, we have to give up The Holy Spirit as God, and we have to give up any hope we have of forever defeating death.
No thanks, I’ll just keep believing what God has stated. No need to compromise, I will always take God’s Word over man’s theories. (Isa, 55:8-9; Rom. 1:25)
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. (Gal.1:10)
